Origen del Lienzo de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de El Carrizal

Abstract

The present study seeks to deepen the origin of the painting that is kept in the Sanctuary of El Carrizal, in order to increase the knowledge and the artistic value of this canvas, but above all to value the maternal presence of Mary that accompanies her children who go on pilgrimage in Falcon. For such purpose, a documentary analysis of published investigations, historical comparisons and interpretation of different authors is made and a brief evolution of the reproduction of the copies of the original canvas of Our Lady of Guadalupe is presented to finally establish a comparison of similarities between known Works.
