Abstract

The paper presents a review of the concept of culture framed in the theories, postulates and ideas that allow configuring its dimensions of study. In these dimensions, religion is found as a distinctive element of the memory and identity of the peoples that are united in religious beliefs, manifestations and traditions. Accordingly, the religious dimension of culture includes Marian devotions, the most representative in the state of Falcon is the devotion to the Virgin of Guadalupe de El Carrizal, the thirteen hundred years of its discovery since February 27, 1723 until today have made it a Religious Heritage and a manifestation that characterizes the people of El Valle de El Carrizal and each of the inhabitants of the state of Falcon.
